Consider your Xbox 360 assimilated. PopCap announced today that the company has launched Bejeweled Blitz LIVE on Xbox Live Arcade. The game costs 800 Microsoft Points, or $10 USD, and is essentially Bejeweled Blitz without the Facebook connectivity. However, the game does make liberal use of Xbox Live, allowing 16 players at once to compete in 60-second matches. You can also battle your friends one-on-one on the same console or over Xbox Live. The question is: Will your Xbox Live friends be as impressed by your Bejeweled score as your Facebook friends? Deepak Chopra on Leela, social games and ... biotechnology? [Video]
What do social games, mandalas and neural plasticity have in common? Well, you're about to find out. Mega popular author and mind/body wellness specialist Deepak Chopra has released Leela, his new game for Xbox 360 Kinect and Nintendo Wii. The game is said to serve as a meditation tool, feature 43 mini games designed to engage the human body's chakras.
Each mini game is a practice in exercising one of the seven chakras, or spiritual centers in the human body. Players partake in activities such as soaring though tunnels of light and launching fireballs at rocks to do just that. The game also contains a social feature in which players create mandalas--geometric figures with meditative effects--and share them on Facebook.
We recently say down with Deepak to find out more about his involvement in the creation of Leela, published by THQ and developed by N-Fusion Interactive and Curious Pictures. We also asked him what he thought about Facebook games. His response is ... interesting. Check it out below.
